A few years back we took our first vacation to Tybee and immediately fell in love with the island. We found it to be small but charming with friendly locals and plenty of things to do and place’s to eat and decided it would be a frequent vacation destination for many years to come. Since we planned to make many return visits to the island we began searching for the perfect place to rent, as our home away from home. We felt we could narrow down our search since we had a few requirements that were an absolute must for our vacation getaway. We wanted a place that was clean, quite, had an ocean view and a pool. We talked to a few people and they suggested we look at Beachside Colony Resort.
The resort complex seemed to have what we were looking for; the grounds were clean, well maintained and right on the beach, with a nice courtyard and pools. It is a quite mid island location with a restaurant onsite and many of the units provided an ocean view. We talked with the staff and asked if we could see some of the rental units hoping that we would find one that suited our needs. We looked at several different units and finally found the ideal Tybee Beach Condo.
We stayed in Tybee Beach Club unit 122 and it was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the way it was decorated (just right for the beach) and it had a great view. The condo is clean and fresh and has all the comforts of home and more. Our favorite part is the fantastic views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean. You could tell it was recently updated: new paint throughout, new living room and balcony furniture, and a complete make-over of the condo. I really enjoy starting off each day eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee on the balcony as I watch the sunrise over the Atlantic, so relaxing.
It provided an open living room area with ocean views, a dining table and a bar with additional seating. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook a great meal (if that’s what you want to do) with granite counter tops, stainless appliances and plenty of extras. The Living Room has a queen sleeper sofa, iPod docking station, flat screen TV, BluRay and more. The balcony has great views of the ocean, beach, pools and courtyard.
The master bedroom has a King size bed, flat screen TV and DVD player, and the attached bath has a walk-in shower I wish I had in my home. The second bedroom has a Queen bed, flat screen TV and DVD player, and provides access to the second full bath with tub and shower which is also accessible from the hall.
This condo is on the second floor of the Tybee Beach Club building which is the newest building in the Beachside Colony Resort complex. One amenity that I quickly came to appreciate was the elevator, it is really nice not having to haul a weeks worth of luggage and groceries up two fights of steps. In addition, there is access to three pools (one of the pools is heated and one is strictly for the kids), covered garage parking, direct beach access and Marlin Monroes restaurant on-site (it’s the only restaurant on Tybee that’s surfside where you’re able to dine in the dunes). The kids loved being right across the street from Memorial Park which has a playground, volleyball, basketball, tennis and more.
We can’t wait to return and will definitely stay here again on every trip to Tybee. This condo tends to book quickly, now I know why.
